Boston’s Ben Nevis Midnight Challenge Complete!

S.T Hopper jeweller’s very own Katie Hopper along with three other local ladies Sally Wookey, Catriona Kiss and Lisa Cain have completed their big challenge in aid of Alzheimer’s. Their trek took them into the heart of the Nevis range. The challenge was to reach the summit of Ben Nevis which stands at the height of 1,343 metres above sea level. To add to the challenge it was carried out on rough terrain starting at 10.00pm, Katie, after recovering told us more

'It was on the longest day, Summer Solstice, June 21st, 2014 at 10pm and we finished at 6:30am. We reached Ben Nevis Summit at 2am. The walk up was very testing as we not only had to contend with the darkness but cloud too; So visibility was very poor. Towards the top of the summit the weather changed to cold, snowy conditions so we didn't hang around! We kept on the move to keep as warm as possible. It was an amazing experience and we loved every minute of it'

A huge thank you to all of you who donated to such a worthy cause. The ladies target was to raise £2000, they manage to beat that target and raise a brilliant £2,744 well done ladies!
